Who are we looking for: 

A Brand Manager with at least 2 years experience as Brand Manager, ideally having worked with a blue-chip FMCG or Drinks brand.

The Role

We are currently seeking a Brand Manager to join the team on a 12-month, working on a major brand in the Irish Market, reporting to a Senior Marketing Manager.

Job Purpose:

Lead the Digital, Media and Off Trade brand strategy and activation and work with the Marketing Manager to deliver team objectives regarding volume, CAAP, and building brand equity to provide long term sustainable growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

General Role Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage the implementation of 2017 brand plans delivering the key programmes to the agreed A&P budgets.
  • Build great relationships with key internal and external stakeholders across the business and passionately champion the brand to ensure it remains a key focus for the business.
  • Work with the Planning Team to understand consumer, shopper and brand issues and identify insights and implications for planning purposes and activities that deliver against objectives.
  • Clearly demonstrate ownership of numbers through purposeful fact based recommendations
  • Identify and share insightful trends, innovations and competitor activity amassed from key areas of responsibility with the wider team.

Digital Responsibilities

  • Lead digital activation for the brand, championing the digital brand activity amongst key stakeholders including: International, Commercial and Local Teams.
  • Ensure digital activity is fully integrated into 2017 brand plans, developing digital activation on time and to the agreed 2017 budgets.
  • Continue to reinforce Ireland’s positioning as a lead digital market for the international markets.
  • Continue to drive process simplification and integration of the digital eco-system for the local market.
  • Manage the development and maintenance of the Facebook and Twitter pages and explore potentially suitable additional social media sites.

Media Responsibilities

  • Manage all media creative development and planning for the brand in 2017. Manage full media planning and production A&P budget, delivering campaigns on time and to the agreed 2017 budget
  • Liaise with key stakeholders to develop and implement innovative media campaigns and work with insights team to track campaign effectiveness
  • Liaise with insights team to track campaign effectiveness, review, evaluate and implement key learnings.
  • Develop key content partnerships to support media activity

Off Trade Responsibilities

  • Lead the Retail strategy, championing the brand’s programmes with key stakeholders including: International, Planning, Commercial and Finance Teams.
  • Ensure Off Trade activity is fully integrated into National Account Team plans delivering high impact campaigns to drive awareness and consideration of the brand.
  • Lead and champion a performance scorecard for both Retail and On Trade, working with planning and commercial, setting the vision for success, agree KPIs and tracking thereafter   
  • Develop and manage the implementation of 2017 brand plans on time and to the agreed A&P budgets, Review, evaluate and implement learnings thereafter.

Key skills required:

  • Ability to manage several projects and deadlines concurrently, delivering to tight deadlines while retaining attention to detail and communication standards.
  • Capability of building consensus and alignment around plans & activities and building momentum with stakeholders to deliver on brand objectives.
  • Managing and influencing external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate strategic thinking skills and a foundation understanding of Consumer & Shopper Insight.
  • Must have the ability to write a concise insightful creative brief.
  • Must have a solid foundation of commercial acumen and can clearly demonstrate an ability to develop compelling fact based recommendations in a passionate and engaging manner.
  • Must excel at flawless implementation of plans from concept to shelf to a high standard.

6. Qualifications and experience:

  • Third level degree in Marketing/Business Management
  • At least 2 years’ experience as a Brand Manager in FMCG or Drinks.
  • Experience of contributing to the strategic planning process in the last 2 years
  • Demonstrate a track record or providing innovative solutions to commercial problems
